For the past twenty-five years, Margaret Wailes has spent several months each year in Prince Edward Island. In 2000, I came across an invitation to join Sandi Komst in watercolor painting classes at the MacPhail Homestead – “no experience or materials necessary”. That first class awakened a long dormant passion for painting. Inspired by scenes of Prince Edward Island, I have painted (in watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein and oils) flowers grown in PEI; boats and waterfront scenes; moonlight on the water, dunes and other beach scenes; churches; old heritage farms and homesteads; and store front windows with reflections of other buildings. I have exhibited and sold paintings at the Georgetown Inn, The Dunes, Howes Hall Gallery, The Dancing Starfish, and the Coleville Gallery, as well as Artisans on Main, Montague and Souris
